The Colorado Rockies, the Major League Baseball team based in Denver, implemented Teamwork in 2020 and went live in April during the baseball season. The Rockies run around 50 mobile point of sale stations, most of them at Coors Field and the rest across their five stores in the surrounding Denver area.

One return counter, wherever the fan happens to be

Teamwork Commerce provides omnichannel experiences to Rockies fans across their stores. A fan can return a purchased item at any location throughout the stadium or the greater Denver area. Teamwork's cloud backend lets the Rockies connect a range of integrations to drive more engaging experiences.

Cashless at Coors Field, and the Givex integration

The integration with Givex is a powerful one for the Rockies, and was a must-have when they were looking for a mobile point of sale partner. With Coors Field now cashless, fans can convert cash into a gift card, which they can come back and spend in Rockies stores. The Givex integration also supports the Rockies' season ticket loyalty program.

Thirteen weeks to host All-Star Week

One of the biggest changes for the Rockies has been running native Teamwork apps on the iPads in store. The team has taken full advantage of the mobility and flexibility the iPads provide: if a game draws higher attendance than expected, it is straightforward to take an iPad, download the apps, and add a printer and scanner to stand up another register.

That mattered when MLB All-Star Week was relocated to Denver 13 weeks before the events were due to begin. Teams normally have around two years to prepare, so the compressed timeline presented real challenges for the Rockies retail operation.

"Teamwork's flexibility gave us the ability to quickly take an iPad, download the apps, and you have a point of sale. We were able to easily go from 12 to 25 point of sales in our main store."

Live sales, on a phone

The Rockies use Teamwork's Dashboard app, which gives them a live view of sales and whichever other analytics they choose.

"I'm a little addicted to dashboard. To have that feature on my phone, be able to see the live sales and what trends are in the ballpark has really stepped up our game. We can spot problems that we've missed in the past and that's a huge opportunity for us to get better. That's what we were looking for and that's what Teamwork offers to us."
